As the owner of Findingdream Hair, I have discussed with lots of owners of high-end hair salons and hair stores. Many of them are in search of the finest hair extensions for their clients, yet have encountered numerous disappointing experiences with purchasing low-quality products.
They found the quality of their hair extensions is often inconsistent, leading them to switch suppliers frequently, a process that consumes a significant amount of time and energy.
Furthermore, a major concern is the potential negative impact on their business if their customers use low-quality hair extensions, leading to unfavorable reviews and potential loss of clientele. This is their foremost worry.
In this article, I will introduce how to control the quality of hair extensions in manufacturing. You will learn where to inspect the quality of the hair extensions and how to test product quality.
I hope the following contents can help you choose high-quality hair extensions.
Hair Material Collection
As a Chinese hair extensions manufacturer, the primary type of hair we use is Chinese human hair. This doesn’t imply that other types of hair are inferior. In fact, European or Russian hair is softer and finer, as they are European hair itself.
When using European hair, we select strands of similar colors and combine them into one section, using these similar colors to create hair extensions or wigs without the need for dyeing, in order to maintain their natural color and luster.
However, the price of European hair is approximately 2-3 times higher than that of Chinese virgin hair, making it affordable for only a select few top-tier customers in the high-end market.
The Chinese virgin remy hair is considered one of the top-grade hair types, along with European hair. Chinese virgin remy hair can be bleached or colored to any desired shade, and the resulting color is pure without any mixed tones.
How to chooose the Best chinese virgin hair?
The top-grade Chinese virgin hair is hair directly cut from young women or girls. This hair is tied with rubber bands to prevent it from mixing with other hair. The reason why this type of hair is considered superior is as follows:
- The hair from young women has not been dyed or treated with chemicals.
- The hair strands are aligned in the same direction, ensuring smoothness.
- This type of young women’s hair is healthy, well-nourished, and retains intact cuticles.

Trim the split ends of the hair
Many hair extensions factories trim the split ends of the hair during the final processing of the hair extensions. This processing only cut the split ends of the long hair, However, the split ends of the shorter hair will be neglected.
The presence of split ends in the shorter hair can affect the quality of the hair extensions and may lead to tangling after a few months of use.
There is a process called “Pull Hair” that involves gathering hair of the same length together. During this process, the hair of the same length is grouped together, and we trim the hair tips, ensuring that split ends from different lengths of hair are eliminated.
This guarantees that the entire hair extensions are free from split ends, thereby ensuring the quality of the final product and preventing tangling during future use.
Multi section of color dying
It is easy to understand that the root hair receives more nutrients than the hair tip and is healthier. As virgin remy hair, all the hair is from the hair root to the hair tip with the right direction. Therefore, when dyeing the hair, the color of the hair root is different from the hair tips.
In fact, the color of the hair tips is darker than the hair root. If a hair factory dyes the color only once, their hair extensions will have a significant difference in color between the roots and the tips.
How to deal with the problem in Findingdream Hair factory?
At Findingdream hair factory, we employ a multi-layer dyeing process. This means that we divide the color processing into three layers.
Firstly, we bleach or dye the entire hair, ensuring an overall color. Then, we dye the hair roots separately to match the shades on the hair color chart as closely as possible.
Afterward, we focus on dyeing the hair tips to achieve a maximum similarity with the hair color chart. This process ensures uniformity in color between the roots and the tips, effectively addressing the issue of inconsistent colors.
However, this phenomenon is not as noticeable in non-remy hair extensions because in non-remy hair extensions, the hair strands are not consistently aligned in the same direction. Some portions of the hair may be reversed, while others may have the normal direction.
But the quality Non-remy hair is much lower than Virgin Remy hair, they are different grades of hair.
